Why €88 when you book from Cannes or Nice Airport?

The extra €3 covers the drive of your taxi from where it is to your pick-up point. Take a taxi at a stand in Cannes or hail one in the street and you only pay €85. Likewise, booking a Cannes taxi to collect you at the airport and take you to Cannes is €88.

What the flat rate includes

It is an all-inclusive flat rate: day or night, weekdays, Sundays, public holidays, from 1 to 8 passengers, same price. Your luggage and the motorway toll are included. It is a price for the whole taxi, not per person.

If your flight is late, you pay nothing more: your driver follows your landing time and adjusts to it.

The price changes only if the journey changes: an extra stop on the way (to collect your luggage at your hotel first, for example), an extra drop-off (Terminal 1, then Terminal 2), or waiting time at your hotel or pick-up address if you are not ready at the booked time. These extras are charged at the regulated rates in force (hourly waiting rate, and per-kilometre rate by day or by night); for anything unforeseen on the day, simply agree with your driver.

Other prices found online usually come from private hire companies or transfer platforms, not from the official licensed taxis and the safety and advantages they provide (trained drivers, vehicle standards, use of bus lanes to beat traffic).

Arriving at Nice Airport

The taxis waiting at the Nice Airport stands are Nice taxis. To travel with a Cannes taxi, book before you land and give us your flight number and a phone number (so that we can reach you on WhatsApp). Your driver follows your flight's arrival and waits for you at the exit, holding a sign with your name. If your flight is delayed, there is no extra charge.

Leaving Cannes for your flight

From Cannes, the drive to Nice Airport usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on where we pick you up. Traffic is heaviest from 7 to 9 am and from 4 to 7 pm, so allow extra time then, and book your taxi the day before for an early flight.

Official taxis are allowed to use the bus lanes in Cannes, on boulevard Carnot for instance. At busy times, that can save up to 15 minutes compared with a private hire car.

In Cannes you will see 2 kinds of cars for hire. Choosing an official taxi means you are in safe, knowledgeable hands, with fully trained and compliant professionals. The City of Cannes advises checking that a taxi is official before you get in.

• An official taxi has a TAXI roof sign, a meter and the regulated fares displayed inside.
• It can be taken at a taxi stand, hailed in the street or booked, and it must accept card payment.
• A private hire car cannot pick you up at a taxi stand or in the street. It must be booked in advance, and its price is set by the platform it uses, not by the Prefect.

It can be taken at a stand or hailed in the street, and can use the bus lanes. Customer complaints are addressed directly to the Mayor of Cannes and dealt with by the City's disciplinary committee.

A private hire car applies fares that may vary significantly with demand on the day. It must be booked in advance, cannot be hailed in the street, and is subject to lighter compliance requirements and regulatory scrutiny than an official taxi.
